Rescue of 21 Kidnap Victims: Kogi State's Stance Against Criminal Activities

In Kogi State, security operatives successfully rescued 21 individuals abducted along the Ajaokuta – Itobe road within 48 hours of the incident. Governor Yahaya Bello praised the swift actions of the security forces and reiterated a zero-tolerance approach towards criminal activities in the state, emphasizing the paramount importance of peace and security.


A joint team consisting of the Nigeria Police, Nigerian Civil Defence and Security Corps, and local vigilantes orchestrated the rescue operation, liberating predominantly travelling victims who had been taken to an undisclosed location in the dense forests of Ajaokuta Local Government Area.

Governor Bello, upon learning of the abduction, promptly directed security agencies and local vigilantes to act swiftly to free the captives and apprehend the culprits, showcasing an unyielding commitment to safeguarding the citizens under his governance.

The governor's spokesperson highlighted the successful outcome of the coordinated efforts, mentioning the apprehension of some kidnappers while others remain under pursuit.

Governor Bello commended the rapid and effective response of the security forces, reiterating the administration's dedication to maintaining Kogi State as a safe haven and issuing a stern warning to potential wrongdoers against seeking refuge in the state.
