Arrest Made After Fatal Dispute in Kwara State, Nigeria

Two individuals, Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju from Shao Garage area, Ilorin, were apprehended by the Kwara State Police Command for their alleged involvement in a disturbing altercation. The incident reportedly involved the fatal slitting of a neighbor's throat following a disagreement.


The tragic event unfolded around past midnight on Monday at the Shao Garage area, Ilorin, situated in the Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State. 

According to a source familiar with the matter, the victim's brother, AbdulRazaq Babatunde, was alerted by a resident's outcry. Rushing to the scene, he discovered his younger brother, Abubakar Babatunde, in critical condition, lying in a pool of blood due to a slit throat.

Subsequently, Abubakar was swiftly taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for urgent medical treatment, the source disclosed.

Confirming the incident, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, acknowledged the report and revealed that two individuals had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Assuring that proper investigations were ongoing, she emphasized that appropriate actions would be taken once the inquiries were concluded.
